Project Overview
In May 2023, under Mayan Studios, I directed and produced “Akahe” — a cinematic music video for Sri Lankan artist Ravindu Samaraweera. The video was shot in Colombo, Sri Lanka, and featured a short story-driven sequence before the music begins, giving the production a more immersive, film-like quality.

My Role
- Director of Photography (DOP)
- Editor
- Colorist
I oversaw both the shooting and post-production, ensuring that the storytelling visuals blended seamlessly with the performance footage.

Style & Approach
The project was executed in a cinematic style, with careful use of framing, lens selection, and motion to create emotional depth. The prelude story set the stage for the music, allowing viewers to connect with the song on both a narrative and visual level.

Highlights
- Integrated a story sequence before the song to enhance the cinematic experience.
- Smooth, dynamic shots using gimbal stabilization (Zhiyun Crane 2).
- Balanced natural lighting with cinematic grading for a polished look.
